Pantha Du Prince - Saturn Strobe [ZSHARE] [YSI]

I’ve been listening to the most recent Pantha Du Prince (aka Hendrik Weber) album The Bliss again a lot recently. Its been a long time since i’ve sat down and listened to a techno album, be it melodic or otherwise from start to finish. House and techno have always to me been about singles and immediacy. I’ve been finding less solace with electronic albums as a whole of late. There has been some fantastic techno released this year but I find myself listening to them mostly when practising DJ as opposed to on my iPod or stereo. I love the ambiguity of instrumental electronic music but definitely find it harder to make a personal connection in this files and folders musical age. 

Although, one track on the album in particular that stands out for me is Saturn Strobe. I found myself repeating it time after time. With its beautifully lush strings sweeping across Weber’s brittle precise production. It creates a real feeling of open space that conjure up imagery of sweeping glacial winterscapes. Lets even call it Christmas techno!
